This course offers a introduction to politics and political science. It will teach you some key concepts such as ‘politics’, ‘power’, ‘influence’, ‘conflict’ and ‘cooperation’. Who is exercising political power and how? How can we investigate it, and how is the way journalists approach politics different from political scientists’ perspectives? This course also highlights how other axes of power running through societies, for example along racial, gendered or class lines, structure politics and the scientific knowledge produced about it.
